Fixed-wing UAV for oil and gas

A long-range pipeline inspection drone that launches from the right-of-way

Pipelines, well pads and gathering systems sit far from airfields and often far from roads. A fixed-wing VTOL UAV lifts off from a pad or the back of a pickup, patrols the right-of-way on the wing and recovers vertically on the same point.

Why a fixed-wing VTOL UAV for oil and gas

01 / Fit
Distance without infrastructure

Up to 300 km of range and six hours of endurance with no runway, catapult or recovery net at the site.

Works where the link is thin

Visual-inertial navigation holds the route without GNSS, and the aircraft returns and lands on its own after link loss.

Built for the climate

Qualified from −20 °C to +50 °C with wind tolerance to 15 m/s at launch.

Which configuration for which asset

02 / Configuration

Three configurations share one airframe. Figures are the published specification; range and endurance follow the payload and battery pack and are confirmed per order.

Oil and gas missions

03 / Missions
Right-of-way patrol

Routine flights along the pipeline corridor to spot encroachment, excavation and third-party activity.

Thermal survey

The thermal channel shows temperature anomalies along buried and surface lines and at facilities.

Facility overwatch

Zoom and thermal observation of pads, compressor stations and tank farms from stand-off distance.

Corridor mapping

LiDAR and photogrammetry for route planning, as-built records and erosion monitoring.

Incident response

A fast first look over a remote section before a ground crew is dispatched.

Site security ↗

Paired with drone detection sensors for facilities that need airspace awareness.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Why use a fixed-wing UAV for oil and gas pipeline inspection?

Pipelines are long and linear. A fixed-wing UAV flies on its wing, so one sortie covers a corridor that would take many multirotor flights or a crewed aircraft. The VTOL version removes the need for a runway or launcher at the site.

Can the drone detect gas leaks?

The standard payloads are a zoom camera, a dual EO/IR turret and a LiDAR plus zoom unit. The thermal channel shows temperature anomalies. Dedicated gas-imaging sensors are a payload-integration question that depends on the sensor's weight and interface — send the requirement and we will confirm it per order.

How far can it patrol from the launch point?

The published range is 60, 120 or 300 km depending on configuration, with data links of 50 km, 100 km, and 150 km plus relay.

How many people does it take to operate?

Two operators take the aircraft from case to air in under ten minutes.
