At Doers United during Reflect Festival 2025 in Limassol, Cyprus, OrbitUAV brought its VTOL drone to the show floor — an aircraft we build for firefighters and emergency services.
Why a drone for fire and emergency work
Wildfire and emergency response both start with the same problem: getting eyes on the scene before crews arrive. A VTOL airframe launches from a clearing or the roadside, then flies efficient fixed-wing legs over forest, water and rubble.
On our VTOL page the search & rescue configuration is described as thermal search over forest, water and rubble, launched from the roadside. Remote forest and wilderness monitoring — including wildfire prevention and support for emergency response operations — is one of the use cases we list on the OrbitUAV home page.
At the booth
The aircraft sat on the stand for the whole event, with the propulsion unit up close for anyone who wanted to see the hardware. Most conversations came back to the same practical questions: how fast it gets airborne, what it carries, and how it fits into an existing fire or rescue workflow.
